Children’s Art Club
Ages 8 to 13 years

Do you have a child interested in art? Focal Point Gallery's Children’s Art Club forms an introduction to the artists and exhibitions in the organisation’s rolling programme, and helps participants engage in practical workshops within the exhibition space. In these events, children try out new skills, explore materials, and develop their critical abilities in an encouraging and open atmosphere. Each short course consists of five sessions and takes place on Saturdays between 10.30am and 12.30pm. Children can either attend single session or parents can book five in a row.

Focal Point Gallery is a centre for the nationally recognised Arts Award (please see www.artsaward.org.uk).

'Discover', 'Explore', 'Bronze', 'Silver' and 'Gold' awards can be obtained by participating in one of our series of out of school workshops.

Focal Point Gallery will be continuing with its series of free artist-led workshops for Southend Schools and gallery tours for all groups during May, June and July.


Children’s Art Club and Arts Award dates during April, May, June and July:

Children's Art Club dates during June and July 2013: Saturdays 10.30am to 12.30pm. Ages 8 to 12 years.
8, 15, 22, 29 June and 6 July 2013.
£7 per session or £28 for all five sessions. Advantage Card holders: £5 per session.
Please bring your own snack and drink.
Booking with payment required to secure your place.

Silver Arts Award After School Club dates during April, May, June and July 2013:
Tuesdays 4.00pm to 6.00pm.
Ages 11 to 16 years.
30 April, 7, 14, 21 May, 4, 11, 18, 25 June, 2 and 9 July.
Cost £7.50 per person, per session plus end of course moderation fee.

Gold Arts Award for home educated young people:
Mondays 10.00am to 1.00pm.
Ages 13 to 16 year olds.
Dates by arrangement.
Cost £7.50 per person, per session plus end of course moderation fee.


Schools Workshops:
Eddie Peake will be leading a series of workshops based on his exhibition ‘Video’.
Tuesdays 10.00am to 1.00pm.
7 May, Westborough Primary School, year 5 group.
21 May, Chase High School, year 13 group.
4 July, Westcliff High School for Boys, AS level group.
