Essex Mums is a place for Mums and Dads to make the most of family life in Essex: whether it is to find out what's going on nearby, read opinions of the best parent and toddler groups, give and receive help and advice or just chat about your day.
Our forum was started in March 2008 and has over 1000 members. When I set it up I had recently returned to the area and found I was struggling to find good information about things to do as a parent in Westcliff and the Essex area in general, so thought I would create a forum for parents like me. It has become a place to arrange meet-ups, exchange information and advice, as well as for everyday chatter and nonsense. We have had new babies, numerous pregnancies (even leading to talk of there being Essex Mums baby dust!) and many good friends have been made. Of course the kids love meeting up with each other too, and it's been lovely to see them all grow - hopefully we will continue to see this for years to come. We've also arranged a number of meet-ups in various places across the county, and have regular coffee mornings every week.
