Hollytrees Museum
Hollytrees is a Georgian town house that was opened
as a museum in
1929. It underwent
a major redevelopment
in 2001 and now tells the story of domestic life and childhood in Colchester over the past 300
years and this will continue
to be its focus.
Hollytrees Museum
is a short walk from Colchester Castle and
is a free admission museum.
Hollytrees takes a closer look at domestic life over the past 300 years
with
fun and humour in mind. In this museum, which is a delight for all the
family,
you can see toys, draw your own Victorian style silhouette and enjoy a
temporary exhibition programme as well as fun events throughout the
year.
