In this beautiful, purpose built Victorian museum you can marvel at thousands of years of history and explore Ipswich’s past with many stories that will leave you inspired. Learn about the Anglo-Saxon origins of Ipswich and discover what life was like in Roman Suffolk.  Visitors can see and experience the infamous giant woolly mammoth in the Victorian natural history gallery as well as favourites including ‘Rosie’ the rhino, the beautiful towering giraffe and many other species from all over the world. Enjoy the amazing fossil collection, the recently refurbished bird gallery and take time to discover more about civilisations from all over the world. You can even take a step back to ancient Egypt and see a beautiful mummy mask, amulets and shabtis and beautiful Egyptian jewellery.
