Oaklands Park
Oaklands is an established park covering some 4.8 hectares (12 acres)
of grounds within the historic quarter of Chelmsford. Within the park
there are colourful Victorian planting schemes, contemporary herbaceous
borders, award winning Echo Garden (dry garden), wildlife areas,
Football pitches, Tennis courts, Children's play area and Chelmsford
and Essex Regiment Museums (free admission).
You can find the park along Moulsham Street,
or from Vicarage Road. Oaklands Park recently
received the nationally acclaimed Green Flag Award for parks
excellence.
